Our Philosophy

Almost a decade ago, LocumTenens.com made corporate social responsibility a part of our strategic business platform and consider it an important KPI in the measure of our success. We believe making an impact globally and right here in our community is an essential component of what makes our company and our associates successful.

Each year, we sponsor surgical brigades for the physicians who work with us, as well as our associates, to travel and serve on medical missions in developing countries where quality healthcare is inadequate. We are also proud to be involved with supporting nearly 50 other charitable organizations at any given time through corporate funding, associate fundraisers and volunteerism. Each year, LocumTenens.com associates receive one paid day off to volunteer at the charity of their choice to give back to the community.

LocumTenens.com is committed to supporting medical missions work and increasing healthcare access in underserved areas, sponsoring and recruiting healthcare providers for several medical brigades, and by operating the website MedicalMissions.org, which helps connect trained medical volunteers with organizations sponsoring medical missions all over the world.

To date, individuals from more than 217 countries have visited the site, more than 5,000 medical professionals have registered for volunteer missions on MedicalMissions.org and hundreds of organizations have posted thousands of opportunities. To honor some of these providers, LocumTenens.com holds the MedicalMisssions.org Physician and Advanced Practitioner of the Year Awards, providing the winners with a donation to the charity of their choice.

Each year, LocumTenens.com also chooses associates to accompany medical providers and donated medical equipment to Honduras as part of Predisan Health Ministry’s medical mission to an underserved area in need. The most recent trip resulted in a record 56 surgical procedures in only four days.

One of LocumTenens.com’s latest charitable ventures is Connecting Kids with Care™, which is an innovative, not-for-profit initiative of Jackson Healthcare that LocumTenens.com enabled and continues to help staff. The team mobilizes core healthcare staffing relationships, technologies and expertise to link children to life-altering care through remote care technology. In less than a year, Connecting Kids with Care™ exceeded its goals, having already begun work with more than 100 humanitarian organizations in 15 countries. It has matched individual children with volunteer medical providers from 13 specialties who have provided direct interventional care, assessment, and care planning for the kids, their local medical staff and caregivers.
