See Beautiful
Our Philosophy
At See Beautiful our focus is on giving. We’re a small company, but we give big. Since 2013, our company has helped fund over 166 sustainable projects, supported 100 non-profits and donated over $160,000. We have three primary giving initiatives focused on equity, diversity, inclusion, justice and peace (EDIJP) at the local and international level: 1) Access to education for children in the Democratic Republic on Congo; 2) Awarding See Beautiful Grants to non-profits focused on EDIJP work; and 3) Providing See Beautiful Clubs for children to be empowered and serve within the United States.
“Together, we are creating more beautiful in the world through empowerment, education and strategic giving initiatives. And we couldn’t do it without our incredible community. We’d love for you to join us.”
New Hope Bracelets = New Hope for children:
We work closely with the New Hope Center, a grief center in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo where they provide play therapy for children who have witnessed one or both of their parents’ murder(s). When they come to New Hope, the expertly-trained staff provide many different opportunities for the children to grieve and find new hope. One of those experiences is for the children to draw their grief as a way to recognize that it is real, but honor the truth that they can also let grief go. Then, the children draw their hopes and dreams, to celebrate that their hopes and dreams are valid, valued and can be achieved. If the children so choose, these drawings are turned into paper beads, and the paper beads are turned into bracelets that we sell. For every bracelet sold, we get to keep another child in school for a month. We have been able to keep over 250 children in school for over 3 years.
See Beautiful Grants:
Twice a year we accept grant applications from non-profits with awards ranging from $1,000-$5,000. We save $5 from every purchase of our eco-friendly products to fund grant projects that are sustainable and focus on EDIJP. This past July we donated over $16,000 to 21 non-profits directly impacting 22,240 children and adults. If you’re a non-profit, you can apply for our next Grant cycle here.
See Beautiful Clubs:
We host See Beautiful Clubs in schools and local communities throughout the school year with over 500 children and youth involved. You can also find us in our See Beautiful Club at Covenant House, a homeless shelter for youth 18-21 years of age, twice a month celebrating the power of seeing and creating more beautiful in the world with the incredible youth.
